In case you aren't already in love with strawberries, I have some reasons to get the love fest with this berry. Choosing a strawberry instead of a candy bar when you are having a sweet craving is one of the best things you can do for yourself. They are a low calorie food loaded like a billionaire, with antioxidants known as phenols. These phenols not only give strawberries their irresistible red color, but also provide heart-protective, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory properties to this berry. A veritable trifecta of benefits.

The ruby red hue of strawberries is caused by anthocyanins and they are a powerful antioxidant that aids in the protection of the cell structures within your body. Strawberries are one of the most beautiful of fruits, with their deep red color sprinkled with golden seeds.
